During the Easter holiday season, the state of Quintana Roo experienced high occupancy rates, particularly in Bacalar.
This Easter or Spring holiday season lasted from April 13th to the 28th. On average there were 504 flights flying into and leaving from the Cancun International Airport each day. And in total there were 7,558 flight operators during this busy season.
Besides Bacalar, other cities in the state of Quintana Roo reported high occupancy rates. The towns of Chetumal, Isla Holbox, and Felipe Carrillo Puerto had rates between 90 and 96 percent.
In a report from the Secretary of Tourism in Quintana Roo, the busiest destination during this holiday season was Bacalar. They experienced a 100 percent occupancy rate.
Other favored destinations in Quintana Roo also did quite well. Cancun had an occupation rate of nearly 90 percent. Riviera Maya came in at 88 percent and Puerto Morelos was right behind at 87 percent. Cozumel and Mahahual had occupancy rates in the low eighties, and Isla Mujeres had a 78 percent occupancy rate.
