The capital of Quintana Roo will have a connection to one of the most popular destinations in the United States.
New possibilities open up for Quintana Roo: American Airlines announced new connections with Latin America, highlighting that Chetumal will have a direct flight to Miami, Florida.
According to a report by journalist Rob Wile in the Miami Herald, the new route between Miami and the capital of Quintana Roo will begin operating next December.
The airline also announced new connections between Miami and these U.S. destinations: Albany, New York; Burlington, Vermont; Madison, Wisconsin; and Syracuse, New York. In addition to Salt Lake City from December through April and Tulsa, Oklahoma, beginning in November.
“With more than 30 years of service, American is and always will be Miami’s local airline,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, vice president of HUB Miami.
“The new service to…Chetumal and other domestic destinations this coming winter exemplifies our commitment to the economic development of our community as it continues to grow and diversify.”
Last December, Chetumal International Airport doubled its air connectivity with the center of the country with the reactivation of operations by a third airline. From nine flights a week, it will now have 16.
He emphasized that this strengthens Chetumal’s connectivity with the rest of the world and with this reactivation more flights are arriving to Quintana Roo, bringing and taking foreign and national tourism.
