The Business Coordinating Council intends that local deputies carry out a reform of the Law; They fear that there is an impact on different economic sectors in the Tenth Municipality.
The president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) in the southern part of the State, Eloy Quintal Jiménez, said that they will request the State Congress to adopt the legislation to regulate the All-Inclusive in the entity since this modality puts the local economy at risk. Given the implementation of this concept of lodging in Bacalar, he considered that it is time for the State Congress to intervene, before a situation similar to that of northern Quintana Roo occurs, where only one sector benefits.
It should be noted that the leader of the Bacalar hoteliers, David Martínez Sánchez, expressed concern about the arrival of the All-Inclusive to the tenth municipality, since, he said, they generate affectation to other business sectors. From his point of view, it is a tourist model that handles captive visitors, generates benefits and economic wealth only for the companies that operate it, and leaves poverty belts in the cities.
Therefore, he insisted that the arrival in Bacalar del Todo Incluído, worries the local business.
In this sense, Eloy Quintal insisted that the All-Inclusive concept has generated the enrichment of hotel groups in the north of the entity to the detriment of the economic activity of the surroundings.
Therefore, it considered necessary feasibility studies for the implementation of this concept and ensure that local businesses receive the spill that generates the influx of tourism to the area. The leader of the CCE in the southern zone stressed that clear rules are required to ensure that adventure tourism that arrives in Bacalar yields profits for everyone and not just for a certain sector, therefore the need for legislation on the subject.
