Bacalar, Quintana Roo, January 12, 2021 With an investment of 65 million 952 thousand 318 pesos, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) will extend the coastal boulevard of Bacalar by 10 kilometers, up to the height of Cayuco Maya, with three entrances that will connect with the federal race.
According to the request of Environmental Impact Assessment (MIA), submitted to the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), the project consists of the rehabilitation and adaptation of a road from kilometer 0 + 100 to kilometer 10 + 000, with a goal of 10 kilometers, will consist of two lanes, plus two works associated with the axis of the road with separating islands and lanes for overtaking.
A type D road will be built in four sections: Section 1. – Kilometer 0+000 to Kilometer 0+260: It will start from the junction with Camino Federal (E.C.F.) Reforma Agraria – Puerto Juárez (at the height of Kilometer 100+507.35), until it joins the dirt road that runs parallel to Laguna de Bacalar.
Section 2. – Kilometer 0+260 to Kilometer 6+040: Corresponds to the paving of the section of dirt road that runs parallel to Laguna de Bacalar. Section 3. – Kilometer 6+040 Bis to Kilometer 8+300: This is the paving with asphalt concrete of the section of dirt road that starts parallel to Laguna de Bacalar, starting at the height of kilometer 5+935 with a northwest direction, until it joins the Federal Highway Reforma Agraria-Puerto Juarez (Chetumal-Cancun), where leveling adaptations will be carried out that will only consist of leveling the terrain, to allow access through the existing dirt road.
Section 4. – Kilometer 8+300 Bis to Kilometer 9+765.22: It will consist of the paving of the road that begins at the height of chain 200+140 of the Federal Highway Reforma Agraria-Puerto Juárez (Chetumal-Cancún), where the construction of the level intersection with a right turn lane for the access and exit of the section will be carried out.
The total estimated time for the execution of the works will be 24 months, particularly in 13 months the site preparation works will be executed and the construction activities will be carried out in a period of 14 months.
The site is currently a dirt road that crosses several ranches and is part of the tourist growth area of Pueblo Magico, since hotels, camping sites, and other businesses related to tourism are located there.
